GINGER BEER KIT 20L
Want a refreshing ginger beer at home?
Add 2.5kg of your own sugar and ferment away.
Steps:
1. Add 3L of water to a pot and add 2.5kg of white sugar and simmer until all dissolved
2. Add the sachet of ginger beer mix, stir until well mixed.
3. Remove from heat and pour into sanitised 25L fermentation bucket.
4. Top up to make 23L volume in fermentation bucket.
5. Once brew temperature in fermentation brew in the bucket is 20 degrees, pitch yeast by sprinkling over top of the brew.
6. Seal lid of the fermenter and add clear alcohol or santiser solution to the airlock/bubbler or blow off tube.
7. Ferment at a stable temperature between 18-20 degrees.
8. Once no activity has been visible for 48hours you may then transfer to bottles for carbonation and drinking.
9. Ideally fermented ginger beer should be placed into plastic brown PET bottles or green/brown sanitized 2L recycled cold drink bottles or plastic coke bottles
NOTE: As the ginger beer will continue to ferment while in the bottles it will pressurize and carbonate the ginger beer which in turn may cause glass bottles to explode.
Using plastic bottle allows you to vent the bottles should they become over pressurized and then re seal.
TIPS: Add raisins to your fermentation process to bring variation to your brew.
